Track #19 | Viro the Virus Tribute

Hello and welcome back to JaeBDub Music + Entertainment.  Today I received sad news that one of my all-time favorite MC's passed away.  So we are switching from the normal dubstep posts to pay tribute to a true genius of music.  His way with words is truly extraordinary and completely unique.  Instead of spending all this time talking about him, we will let his words do the talking.

Track #18 | Leather Face

Hello and welcome back to JaeBDub Music + Entertainment!  Today I felt like taking a look at some great drumstep tracks by the master himself.  Go figure it's Figure.  The reason he is so special in my eyes, is he takes you into a real story with his music.  Although tending to be a nightmare, it still draws you into exactly what you would think that event would be like with music.
The track of the day is Leather Face by Figure.  Even the bass sounds like a chainsaw, and that is why I love this song.  Leather Face is just walking around his farm, chopping down hipsters with deadly bass.  The samples are perfect, the ambient sounds provide an eerie atmosphere.  The song just fits like a puzzle.

Track #17 | Get The Money

Hello and welcome back to JaeBDub Music + Entertainment!  I woke up today with an idea in mind, post a blog that may effect people for their whole day.  So why do we wake up everyday... of course to Get The Money!  So of course the track of the day I'm sharing with you this fine morning is a perfect fit.  Relaxed for your awaking brains, with one perfect message.  Get The Money by PANTyRAId.
The song takes a while to work into, but I'm sure that's just like all of our morning rituals.  It really is the perfect morning dubstep song.  I hope all of you enjoy your day, and don't forget to get the money!  Peace.

Track #16 | EOTO Improv

Hello and welcome back to JaeBDub Music + Entertainment!  I usually feature songs but since the people I'm featuring today just improvise, I guess I have to show you like all of their sets.  I mean they just come up with this on the fly, and it sounds so good!  EOTO are true performers.  Oh, and if you didn't know, they will be at the Orange Peel 4/12.  So my Asheville peeps I will see you there.
Do I even have to say why I love these sets?  I don't think so, just take a listen because there isn't much I could say that could do them justice.
My favorites!

Track #15 | Rasputins Gold

Hello and welcome back to JaeBDub Music + Entertainment!  Have you ever felt like being in a video game?  Well there are only a few ways to actually do that, and one of them isn't hopping into your television.  You can either program yourself in or tune into the mighty sounds of Doctor P.
The track of the day is Rasputins Gold by Doctor P, which is without a doubt one of my all time favorites.  It has more dubstep sounds in it than you can count on your newly animated fingers.  It makes me want to go around collecting coins and smashing random monsters with a huge hammer!  Sounds like a lot of fun huh?  Well than check it out!

Track #14 | Snake Eater + Bonus

Hello and welcome back to JaeBDub Music + Entertainment!  Since I missed posting yesterday I'm giving you two songs for the day!  We are kicking it today with an old school artist with some new school tunes.  Prepare yourself!
Today's track is Snake Eater by Joker.  Joker creates some very powerful productions and is in a league of his own.  Snake Eater is no exception to this.  It really moves me, it just hits the spot right.  Trumpets, a powerful voice, snappy drums, and pounding bass, the recipe for success.  This song isn't complex and I think that's another big reason I like it so much.  I've been posting a bunch of glitchy, bass, hopping around music and felt the need to show how simplicity works as well.  Alright, enjoy!

I call this a "just in case you didn't realize how bad ass Joker is" track.

Track #13 | 8 Bit Superhero

Welcome back to JaeBDub Music + Entertainment!  Todays track is just full of fun!  I'm pretty sure everyone loves MegaMan?! Right!?!  Well at least I do, and that is why Excision and Datsik bring you the track of the day.
8 Bit Superhero by Excision feat. Datsik.  Alright, let's get started sizing this thing up.  Does this come in Mega Size? Haha.  So the first time I heard this track I had no idea who the 8 Bit Superhero was, but as soon as the MegaMan sample came in, I just about lost all sense of composure I had.  Had me thinking of letting a fully loaded blast off out of MegaMan's cannon to this back in the day... Pow pow.  To put in plain and simple, this song just puts me in a good mood, obviously.  Check it out!

Track #12 | Ripple

Welcome back to JaeBDub Music + Entertainment!  Today I am going to get it poppin'!  With this classic dubstep jam by Liquid Stranger.  If this doesn't get you moving, well then there must be something wrong with either your ears or your body.  Either way somethings off.
The featured track of the day is Ripple - VIP by Liquid Stranger.  This song has a classic intro.  Everyone can attest that they either have heard this song or the original sample.  I mean they get it poppin', and then let the bass kick!  Bwop, bwop, bwop.  I just love the feel of this song, it's fast paced gangsta' action.  With deep wobbles and great automation.  The whole song is engraved with energy, you can't help but bounce out of your seat like they had hydraulics.

Track #11 | Hold On

Hello and welcome back to JaeBDub Music + Entertainment.  I have a top five favorite track of all time to share with you today!  Whenever I need a pick me up this is my jam, it just hits me deep and frees up all my swirling emotions.  I love when remixes make a song 1000x times better than they originally were too!  Exciting stuff.
The track of the day is Hold On (Sub Focus Remix) by Rusko.  They hit the nail on the head with this one.  I love the Amber Coffman's voice, its powerful and moving.  I might even go as far to say things like heart warming, soul squeezing, fun loving, I'm rambling, you get it, I love it.  Ok well then, the drop is great because you get tied up into this girls emotions and then just release with this high pitched yell.  AHHH!!!! Sub Focus never ceases to amaze me with the quality that they produce, so check it out!  This is just an amazing track with few equals in my opinion.

Track #10 | Behemoth

Welcome back to JaeBDub Music + Entertainment.  Today is another one of those days where I bring you something a little bit different.  Although this is a fairly well known "alternative" dubstep track, it is a pioneer of what I foresee the future of sub-genre dubstep.
The track of the day is Behemoth by Shackles.  I do rock out to this track a lot.  But I have one beef with it, it is fairly repetitive, and I think just one switchup or breakdown could have made this track 100x more killer.  Either way it is still awesome and lets see why.  Shackles completely hit the nail on the head with the guitar he chose, amp, whatever it was perfect.  It isn't the one tone guitar samples I've been hearing in what I now call Metalstep.  The bass is b.a., it just follows the guitar and makes your head bop.  Err wait, metalheads don't bop they bang right?

Track #9 | Southpaw

Welcome back to JaeBDub Music + Entertainment!  Ever feel like kicking it old-school?  Well that's exactly how I feel with the feature track of the day.  Datsik is a household name in the dubstep world, and rightly so.  Some of his tracks are iconic, Gizmo, Gecko, Hydraulic, and Nuke Em'!  All of these were some of my very first dubstep tracks I've ever heard.  Well, Datsik and Bar9, were probably the originators for me thinking back on it.
So lets get into the music.  The track is Southpaw by Datsik.  He is the hip-hop of dubstep.  His intro is, well lets just say badass.  The drums, the sample, its raw as a zombies diet.  You pretty much expect a freestyle session to break out, but instead you get this melody of bass and synth.  If you haven't heard it already, let me ask where have you been?  All of the sounds he made show up everywhere, he is the innovator of the low growl bass tone.  This song makes you go "Unhhh", "What!!!!", and the occasional "Chyeah!!!".  It's straight up hip-hop dubstep.  The flavor, the attitude, the sound, the feel, the vibe, whatever you call it, this makes me get raw!

Track #8 | The Wrestler

Welcome back to JaeBDub Music + Entertainment!  Once again I am featuring a song by an artist that I featured on my list of "Artists to Look Out For".  Helicopter Showdown retweeted me yesterday so to keep up with a theme, I'm featuring one of their songs.  I found them once again via Spotify, which I don't know if I have said before, get that shizzz!
So the feature track for today is The Wrestler Helicopter Showdown VIP Mix by Sluggo and Helicopter Showdown.  The melody in the intro is absolutely gripping.  It honestly reminds me a lot of Skrillex intros and the distortions he uses on voices.  But I think the drop is much dirtier than anything Skrillex has done, less poppy and high pitched for sure.  Of course there is lots of high pitched sounds that completely contribute to the song as a whole.  Let's just say this, I absolutely love this song no matter who it sounds like or why.  I'm not trying to put down Skrillex because I believe he is an extremely talented artists, but I like much dirtier dubstep most of the time.  Something about this song draws me in though.  Please give it a listen, and follow them on the twitter link above.  Don't forget to subscribe!

Track #7 | Definition of a Gangster

Welcome back to JaeBDub Music + Entertainment.  I took a little break over the weekend from posting, and to stay in that spirit todays feature track is a little more chill than previous posts.  Tony Anthem and Axel Ender team up to bring you one Classic Gangster dubstep track.  Definition of a Gangster by Tony Anthem and Axl Ender.
First off I absolutely love the sample used in this song.  A gangsters main focus is money! Drop!  Even though this song is at a mellow tempo it can get you moving.  The guitar adds a very classic dub song, but the drop is very modern.   I like that they don't really try too much in the bass line, it's simple and fits perfect with the feel of the song.  If you are looking for a song that makes you want to take a road trip with a convertible top and the sun at your back in California.  This is the dubstep song for you.

Yay bonuses!!!! Don't forget the break beat remix!  For you faster tempo lovers out there.

Track #6 | Tweaky

Hello and welcome back to JaeBDub Music + Entertainment. Our feature song for today is from yesterdays new addition to the list "Artists to Look Out For". What I've been doing in my last couple of posts is reaching out to the various artists on that list, and if they responded they were featured on the track of the day. Well Pixel Fist did just that so here we are. Pixel Fist is a newer project from Audio, Mackie, Lorne and Stapleton MC.

Lets jump into this track. Today we have Tweaky by Pixel Fist. This tune has an extremely electrified bass, and I love it! Another part that I have a tendency of liking in most songs is the girls sample that accents the song. I just love girls in drum/dubstep. The coolest part about this song is how the pace of the drums switch, they have a drum and bass breakdown in the middle of the song, but during the bass drops, kick, snare, kick, snare. I thoroughly enjoy switch ups, they keep music entertaining and non repetitive. Don't forget to check to check out both their Twitter and Facebook... both links can be found in the previous paragraph. Also, subscribe to stay up to date with my posts in case you miss them on Twitter and Facebook!

Track #5 | Get Out

Hello and welcome back to JaeBDub Music + Entertainment.  Another Spotify treasure find for everybody today.  AAA is actually something completely unique.  We've all heard of Christian Rock, Pop, and etc... but dubstep?!?!  Well I'm not here to convert anybody, and I'm not going to reveal my beliefs either, but I love the idea and the thought of connecting with the generation.  As music progresses we should expect stuff like this to show up and it's honestly exciting when it does.  These are the innovators.
Lets get into the track.  Get Out (AAA Remix) - Filth Collins.  I've been sticking with fast paced songs lately and I don't really know where this came from.  I love the excitement of this track, the noises are off the wall but yet condensed in a closed tight space.  You end up saying "wow did that really just do that?", but then it completely fits.  Its like a rubiks cube... it doesn't make sense until it fit works itself out.  Then you are like WOAH!  The production quality speaks for itself so give it a listen!  Don't forget to subscribe!

Track #4 | Prototype

Hey guys!  Welcome back to JaeBDub Music + Entertainment.  Today we have another fast paced banger for you!  Yay Drumstep!  The featured song is by Calvertron and MC Messinian.  The fact that I love this song isn't the reason I'm featuring it today.  Messinian is featured on my Artists to Look Out For list and I reached out to all the artists on it.  Two replied and so they will be taking the next two spots on my daily dose of dubstep.  Messinian and AAA thanks again!
The song I bring to you today is Prototype by Calvertron and MC Messinian.  There are several reasons I love this song.  So lets go down the list.  1. I love the Drum and Bass feel | 2. The intro is exciting and unique | 3. Messinian knows how to lay down vocals in a genre that only uses samples if any at all | 4. The drop is so great!  I picture this "Prototype" on the run in a classic desert car chase scene | 5. OMG The Breakdown! So good it deserves a title and caps.  Don't forget to subscribe!
So that being said... big uuuuuup Messinian!

Track #3 | Superheroes

Hello!  Welcome back to JaeBDub Music + Entertainment.  This track I also uncovered via Spotify.  I can't tell you how much I absolutely love Spotify; it just makes finding new music and keeping track of it so easy.  Download it right from Facebook and share with your friends!  Once again the featured track is a remix, but this time the original track is amazing unlike track #1.  I'm not intentionally dissing the the original track of #1, because the origin of it made me realize how truly great a remix it is.  Ok... so I seem to stray on every blog post and never end up telling you the track until... well now!  Track #3 is Superheroes (Twist Remix) - Quartus Saul.  The Album More Heroes also includes remixes and collaborations from Tim Ismag, Messinian, and Helicopter Showdown.  There are four names here that are included in the Artists to Look Out For list found on my blog.  Let me say that again... FOUR!  Either I'm hinting something, or this album is truly amazing. Find out for yourself.
Now to the song.  By the way Twist is so incredibly hard to find anything about.  No Facebook or Twitter that I can find.  I did find a Myspace, but who is on that anymore?  I'll tell you who - people from the UK that are hard to find... duh!  Anyways, I love the feel of this song.  It's a total party jam because of the speed, bounce in the bass, and you get some lyrics.  The bass pattern is absolutely amazing.  If this doesn't get your blood moving then you must be deaf.  I do have one negative about this track, and I hate to include it but it has to be done.  Right before the drop Twist goes a little crazy with the kick.  Even though it pans out to be an amazing drop.  The drum roll is perfect for this drop.  Don't forget to subscribe!

Track #2 | Lords and Ladies + Bonus

Hi and welcome back to JaeBDub Music + Entertainment.  Today I have a little gift for you.  Once again I found this artist over Spotfiy and I'm so happy that I did.  The artist I'm featuring is Terravita, which I proclaim to be my new personal favorite.  If you are wondering who Terravita is (just like I was); they make up the same line up as Hot Pink Delorean Like their Facebook for free downloads.  Chris Barlow, Jon Spero and Matt Simmer of Boston have spent much of their recent time as alterego Terravita, trading house for drumstep. They are currently signed with Rottun Records, and completely fit in with the filthiness that is "Rottun".
Alright to finally get to the track.  My #2 feature track is "Lords and Ladies".  The second you click play you will realize why this is a unique track.  The medieval feel (what I call "Runescape" music) adds such a flavor to the song.  I picture Kings and Queens, all sitting with their mugs and roasted pigs, yet suddenly erupting into this flurry of dance and laughter.  A few jesters have plugged their instrument into a synth, and a flying pig makes its way from one side of the floor to the other as if they were playing volleyball.  All of this is one song.  Don't forget to subscribe!
So lets makes this song into an equation

  Fat drop

Lords and Ladies - Terravita

Now to get into a little bonus section just because I love Terravita so much.  So what you are going to do is click the link in the last sentence.  When you do that you are going to like their page so you can get a couple downloads.  I left this out of the top section because I wanted to make sure you got a taste of what Terravita is.  To make sure this goes to memory I have ONE more song for you to check out.  Which is actually one of the free downloads you get for liking their page.  1. It doesn't have the uniqueness of the first track but it makes it up with get you out of your chair energy | 2. Fat and exciting bass | 3.  They love intros | 4.  I just love the bassline | 5.  It actually has a switch up in the intro... I mean hell yeah! | 6.  Lastly I love the pads and synths.  Now that I have you intrigued I can release the title, "Total Solar Eclipse".  Prepare for this one.

Track #1 | Time

Alright, this is my first blog.  My goal is to bring anyone that wanders in here a sense of what music I listen to.  More importantly to explain why I believe the videos and songs I post to be so appealing.  I'd like to keep it brief so we can get right to the music.  To start it off we have an artist I recently discovered via my new love, "Spotify". Tony Anthem and Axl Ender invited several artists to remix the song "Time (Feat. Skibadee and Lady Chann)".  From out of seemingly nowhere (well at least for me) Sonwah Fresh produces a killer remix.  I've looked up more of their or his/her work, and I really can't find anything comparable to this remix.  The intro is top notch, the bass is heavy but doesn't saturate the song, and that first "TIME" after the bass drops is B.A..  The beat is hard, it's fast, it gets me out of my chair and into someones face (or if nobody is around the wall works just as well).  It's just so good, but enough talk lets get it in!  Don't forget to subscribe!

About Me

My photo
Asheville, North Carolina, United States
My hometown Aurora, CO was an amazing place but wasn't taking me where I wanted to be. I had a dead end job, lost interest in school, hobbies, and honestly even music. One day I decided that I needed a change, and the only way to get that was to get as far away as possible. My mother had recently expanded her business from Boulder to Asheville. So I decided to learn the trade and start interning. I was thrown onto social media jobs (tweets, Facebook, posting on calendars). Not the most fun, but I have learned from it. I ended up landing another internship with a company called Spark Tech Talk. I high stepped right through the front door (or slightly exaggerated) and tried to wow them. I was able to transform conference calls to clarity. One of our main speakers that Spark has interviewed is the one and only Steve Wozniak. The caliber we try aim to interview are the pioneers of today. The innovators, intellectuals, thinkers, movers, shakers, bloggers, tweeters, revolutionaries, inventors, and even newcomers if they have the spirit. I recently became promoted to audio engineer at Spark TT. Now to make a fortune over the internet!
